George R.R. Martin quotes the Game of Thrones novel as:

Summers span decades. Winter can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun. It will stretch from the south, where heat breeds plot, lusts, and intrigues; to the vast frozen north, where a 700-foot wall of ice protects the kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond.

The Game of Thrones. You win, or you die.

This story is different. If you like happy endings, you'd be better off in some other show or movie. In this story, not only is there no happy ending, there is no happy beginning and very few happy things in the middle. Yep, I'm referring to the Game of Thrones Season 8 which people think is terrible (read about why it's not terrible here, but only after watching the series :D)

If you are looking to watch Game of Thrones, I have some thoughts you can benefit from.

    1. Things you do not want to Google

Mark my words and never search for anything related to Game of Thrones or the Song of Ice and Fire on Google or any other search engine.

Some terms you really do not want to search for are Aegon Targaryen and Red Wedding. NEVER even think about googling this unless you want to slaughter your experience.

    2. Game of Thrones vs A Song of Ice and Fire

The writer of the series named the novel series 'A Song of Ice and Fire' and the first novel 'A Game of Thrones.' The show took a different step and named the whole TV series 'Game of Thrones,' so no confusion on that matter. Both of these terms are used interchangeably.

    3. Don't follow any 'GoT' fan pages or official pages on social media

Or you will get some serious spoilers which will completely ruin your 'GoT' experience.

    4. There's a lot of violence and nudity

Both at extreme levels. Please make sure you're comfortable with both before you start watching or you can wait a few years, GoT is not going anywhere.

    5. It's psychologically disturbing

It's a tale of politics, betrayal, and wars and it's psychologically disturbing, so I'd recommend you to be at least 16 years old to watch this series. Your favourite characters will die, normal people die, high born people die, everyone dies, so beware.

    6. It's all worth it in the end

All of the above-mentioned points will be worth it in the end as you will have watched the greatest TV show ever made. It's very interesting and engaging. Just make sure you're old enough to watch it and then enjoy it. It's an amazing show and you're gonna love it.
