Why Luke Skywalker's Mandalorian "Rescue" is the best Jedi sequence ever

 Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian

I've looked at it for 5 hours now. It's beautiful :)

The last episode of the 2nd Season of The Mandalorian was very exciting and engaging, with Luke Skywalker saving the day at the end (read about the sequence here). The whole Star Wars franchise has had many epic lightsaber duels, between Jedi and the Sith or even between the fellow Jedi (read about one here), however, I say that Luke Skywalker's Mandalorian "Rescue" scene was the best Jedi sequence ever. Let's discuss why that is.

1. It's more than just laser swords swinging in the air

This sequence is much more than just a "laser sword" lightsaber swinging in the air. Luke is calm and using the Force while also utilizing the power of the lightsaber. Lightsabers aren't the weapon of the Jedi, they're just tools- Force is the weapon. Most Jedi fight sequences showcase lightsabers as the supreme weapon that Jedi use which can overpower all other weapons. This sequence showcases that lightsabers are merely just tools for cutting down things, the supreme weapon of the Jedi is The Force.

This scene is so great because Luke used the force the way it was meant to be used.

2. The sound effects

Previous interpretations of Jedi fights involved heavy lightsaber sounds but almost all of them failed to impact viewer's energy levels during the sequence. The lightsaber sounds a little more convincing in this sequence and the major new ingredient is the sound effect used for telekinesis.

It's incredible feelings seeing just how impactful it looks when Luke Skywalker stretches out his hand and uses the Force to push or pull the Dark Troopers.

3. It's realistic

This scene doesn't just give Luke a free fall of Dark Troopers from all directions and then showcase him as the all-powerful being in the Universe, although he might just be one. It was very realistic to see how Luke was engaging only 1 or 2 Dark Troopers at one time. He used the force multiple times in the sequence just to push away Dark Troopers so as to buy time before he has to engage them in a fight. Luke also had the advantage of the narrow corridor, as only one or two Troopers could engage him at one time, giving him an easy time to cut them in pieces.

4. It's made by Disney

Disney is well known for its CGI and editing and it goes without saying that Disney's incredible CGI has a big say in making this scene what it is.

------------------------------------------------------
Disney+ is producing 3 major shows contributing to the Skywalker Saga, namely Kenobi, Ahsoka and Boba Fett, each based on the characters they're named after. Boba Fett will be out by the end of this year, but until then may the force be with you...
