Here's why Game of Thrones Season 8 is not terrible.

Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow |
Yes. You read it correctly. Game of Thrones Season 8 is not terrible.
It's not what we wanted to see, it was what they wanted to show, right from the beginning. Game of Thrones showcased the journey of an antagonist and how they gain power, army and support. It answered the age-old questions we have been asking storytellers: Why do the villains have so much support from the people?. Game of Thrones follows the journey of multiple characters and families but Daenerys Targaryen was the closest we had to the main character here (along with Aegon Targaryen, or as you might know him- Jon Snow).
We will take up the main things people think were wrong and will discuss why they were actually logical and believable.
1. Daenerys Targaryen descends into madness and turns evil

Daenerys Targaryen turns evil |
Daenerys wasn't the messiah she was believed to be. She was just a person with a beautiful body, 3 dragons and the right family name. These 3 things helped her gather an army large enough to take over her homeland Westeros which was being ruled by House Lannister who overthrew the Targaryen dynasty along with House Stark, House Baratheon and House Tully. She proceeded to take back what she believed was hers, the Iron Throne.
Tyrion explained this part in the best possible way, “When she(Daenerys) murdered the slavers of Astapor, I’m sure no one but the slavers complained. After all, they were evil men. When she crucified hundreds of Meereenese nobles, who could argue? They were evil men. The Dothraki khals she burned alive? They would have done worse to her. Everywhere she goes, evil men die and we cheer her for it. And she grows more powerful and more sure that she is good and right. She believes her destiny is to build a better world for everyone. If you believed that — if you truly believed it — wouldn’t you kill whoever stood between you and paradise?”
Let's break it down to understand it well. Tyrion recalls the incidents where Queen Daenerys had burned people alive or murdered them, and how everyone cheered for her when she did it. He explained that all this appreciation over what she did gave a feeling of a god-like being who could never be wrong. The line "she believes her destiny is to build a better world for everyone" tells us that she thought of herself as the chosen one: someone who has been sent to the human world to make the world a better place by their own way, which in her case was Fire and Blood. She thought she could never do anything wrong and anything that she thinks can not possibly be the wrong thing; this is why when she burned down King's Landing, she was doing the right thing according to herself and her people still cheered for it. This is how villains are made, this was the complete story arc they go through before descending into complete madness. Daenerys Targaryen had supporters, a large army and was feared. She had everything a villain has. She became the villain.

2. Bran becomes King

Bran becomes King |
After all the deaths and wars and massacres and bad judgement, the lords and ladies of Westeros chose Brandon Stark of Winterfell to rule over the six kingdoms while the North remains free with Sansa Stark as Queen in the North.
It was all very logical to see Bran sitting on the Iron Throne because he really deserves it. He is the most powerful man alive. He can see things. He can literally see any attack coming from any corner of the world. He can keep an eye on Drogon, who flew away with Daenerys's corpse. He can see if the Unsullied and Dothraki decide to attack Westeros, under the command of Dario Naharis, to avenge their queen. He has power and he is logical and rational. He will be just and kind while also being feared and judged. That's why the smartest man of Westeros, Tyrion Lannister himself chose him to be the next ruler of Westeros.
3. Jon is sent to the Wall

Jon Snow with Tormund and other wildlings |
Jon was sent to the wall because they had no other choice. He had killed the Queen he pledged his life to. Though he could be pardoned like Jaime Lannister was pardoned by King Robert Baratheon after killing King Aerys II Targaryen (Daenerys's father), however, if he was pardoned, the Unsullied and the Dothraki would be in rebellion. No one wants them to attack because they will win again, considering their number, will and anger after their queen's death. If he was kept as a prisoner, the Northman would be in rebellion, which again no one wants to risk. Therefore, it made sense to send him to the Wall.
Also, going to the wall wasn't as bad for him as you'd expect: he has Ghost, Tormund and thousands of wildlings following his command behind the wall. He might find a wildling woman there(like Ygritte) and finally be in love and marry peacefully.
Conclusion
Game of Thrones Season 8 had its flaws but it wasn't as bad as people say it is. It is still enjoyable and engaging and it's Game of Thrones, you never get what you wanted.
Remember Ramsay once said, "If you think this has a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention."
We have 6 Game of Thrones spin-off series confirmed by HBO with House of the Dragon coming next year, 2022. But until then, enjoy this meme which is damn true.
