Star Wars: Darth Vader's Iconic “I Am Your Father” Line Was Kept Secret From Everyone

The Star Wars franchise has given its fans a lot to remember it by- iconic dialogues, characters, elements, and whatnot. The second most famous and iconic line from the Skywalker Saga, the first one being "May the Force be with you", is the "I am your father" line, which Darth Vader says to Luke in The Empire Strikes Back.

George Lucas did what he had to to keep this line from reaching the audience and ruining their experience and shock. He kept it a secret from everyone in the cast and crew by writing a fake line in the script; he wrote "Obi-Wan killed your father!" The whole team was unaware of this and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) was told the real line just moments before filming the scene.

Disney+ is producing 3 major shows contributing to the Skywalker Saga, namely Kenobi, Ahsoka, and Boba Fett, each based on the characters they're named after. Boba Fett will be out by the end of this year, but until then may the force be with you...
