Thoros of Myr

Thoros was a celebrated warrior of the Siege of Pyke. Thoros of Myr was a red priest of the Lord of Light and a noted warrior, fighting in the Greyjoy Rebellion. He was also a leading member of the Brotherhood Without Banners alongside his good friend, Lord Beric Dondarrion.

He is famously known to be the first man who breached through the castle walls of Pyke with his flaming sword. Jaime was in awe of how he breached the castle walls with his flaming sword, Jory Cassel said he would not forget it until his dying day. Although Thoros later reveals to Jorah that he was too drunk to know anything at the time and had heard about it the next morning from his friends, the incident had been retold multiple times in series by many great warriors as one of the most heroic acts they had ever seen.

Since almost every major warrior of Westeros fought in the Greyjoy Rebellion, everyone remembers Thoros as the first man breaching through the gates of Pyke with his flaming sword.

Later in the story, Thoros of Myr uses his priest origin to connect to Lord of Light to bring his friend Beric Dondarrion back from the dead multiple times in the series. Thoros also helped Jon Snow and his companions to get a walking wight from beyond the Wall to be shown to Queen Cersei Lannister to prove the threat of White Walkers and the Army of the Dead was real. He was badly injured beyond the Wall when a dead polar bear attacked him and later died in the return journey.
