The Mandalorian: Seeing Luke is like seeing your old internet friend come back online after 6 years
The last episode of the 2nd Season of the Mandalorian was very exciting and engaging. When the Dark Troopers flew into the main ship, I had goosebumps and I was trying to guess what our Din Djarin would do now. The Dark Troopers then proceeded to the main hanger where the Mandalorians, Cara, Grogu, Moff Gideon and Fennec Shand stood silent and tensed. I was very excited about what was going to happen now, I thought we would get a really nice fighting sequence where one or two characters die and the ship is wrecked. I thought Bo Katan would die and the Dark Saber will remain with Din Djarin but none of it came true. An X-wing approached, Cara made fun of it and boom! we got someone we seriously didn't expect: A familiar Jedi. The Jedi then proceeded to the main hanger killing, blasting and "sabering" all dark troopers without any real effort. This scene is how the Jedi fight sequences are supposed to be. Fast. Light. And Engaging.
Din Djarin opened the door for the Jedi knowing he came for Grogu. The Jedi finally removes his hood to reveal himself and it was none other than our old buddy, Luke Skywalker.
Though I did feel bad we didn't get the tense action sequence, seeing Luke was like seeing your old internet friend come back online after 6 years.
The Mandalorian has sparked a new hope (pun intended) to the fans of the Star Wars Franchise. After 3 successful movies in the 20th century and 3 (actually 1st one was a mess) successful prequel movies at the beginning of the 21st century, Disney took the lead to make 3 sequel movies. While these movies had a lot of completely mind-blowing CGI moments, they failed to leave a good mark in terms of storyline.
Disney made some very cool and successful shows like Star Wars: Rebels and The Clone Wars but it couldn't do considerably well in live-action. The Mandalorian, although, looks like a total masterpiece. The graphics are outstanding (c'mon, it's Walt-freaking-Disney), the acting is amazing and the storyline is believable and engaging. Seeing the approach Disney is finally able to take with the Star Wars Franchise, we can say the future is bright. Also, Boba Fett also has his own show in production which will be out soon enough but until then may the force be with you...
